USB Powered through Sucket
I got this link via Facebook from one of my friends. Thanks for the contribution, Jane.
Using this socket, any USB powered device can be connected and charged without a dedicated adapter
From FastMac:
U-Socket is a duplex AC receptacle with built-in USB ports that can power any device that is capable of being charged via a 5V power adapter, but without the need for the power adapter! When a U-Socket replaces a traditional 3-prong AC wall socket, you can eliminate the clutter of AC Adapters that stick out & take up space in your home or office. Everything stays neat & organized. In addition, U-Socket’s energy efficient design only outputs power through the USB port if something is connected to it. This can save you up to $25 per year in reduced energy costs. Good for you, good for the environment and with our great prices, good for your wallet too!

someone pay $2 million for this old photograph?
Turns out that the credit card-sized ferrotype is the only surviving authenticated portrait of Billy the Kid—the notorious Wild West outlaw and beloved folk hero. The ferrotype is an early form of photo using sheets of iron metal.
Billionaire William Koch, founder of Oxbow Carbon and a well-known art and antiques collector, paid a whopping $2.3 million for the picture, which was auctioned off at Brian Lebel’s 22nd Annual Old West Show & Auction in Denver, Colorado last night. A 15 percent fee was added to the bidding price, making the selling price more than $2.6 million.
The portrait was believed to be taken in late 1879 or early 1880 in New Mexico. The Kid (a.k.a. William Henry McCarty, Henry Antrim and William H. Bonney) reportedly paid 25 cents to have the photo taken. According to legend, the 19th-century American frontier gunslinger killed 21 men, but many historians believe the number was closer to nine. He died in 1881 at the hands of Lincoln County Sheriff Pat Garrett when he was only 22. Last December, outgoing New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson declined to grant a posthumous pardon to the infamous outlaw.
I don’t dig why uber wealthy people buy and collect antiques. I guess they never got hand-me downs growing up.

Most Expensive Razor in the World
If you’re one of those people who have nothing better to do with their money because, well, you happen to just have so much of it, then this razor is for you. A Portland, Oregon-based company has developed Zafirro Iridium—a tougher-than-anything razor that can be had for a mindboggling $100,000.
What would you get in return for $100,000? Firstly, the razor’s handle is made from iridium, a rare, hard metal that is so strong it could resist corrosion even at temperatures over 2000 degree Celsius. For proof, you can drop the razor in a cauldron of molten lava and still be able to retrieve and use it for your daily shaving routine.
If its iridium handle is not enough to convince you to part with your $100,000, maybe the Zafirro Iridium’s pure white sapphire blade would. Zafirro’s white sapphire blade, the company claims, can assure you of at least 10 years of stubble-free existence. Aside from its unmatched sharpness, the blade is also hypoallergenic, as well as oxidation- and corrosion-free.
Due to the difficulty of producing the Zafirro Iridium, makers Bright Light Ventures, are offering only 99 pieces of the state-of-the-art razor.
